General Manager Job Description

As a General Manager at Service Experts, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating the total activities of the service center, providing leadership to all personnel and processes of the center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze the operating statement for both the center and individual departments, and take appropriate action.
  • Prepare and review the GM report, taking necessary steps to address any issues.
  • Identify determinants of profitability and implement strategies to optimize performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely employee payroll processes.
  • Apply accounting control principles to manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other financial aspects.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales goals, utilizing multiple processes for generating and responding to sales leads, and coaching sales personnel.
  • Ensure effective customer communication and utilize features and benefits of key products and services to drive the value proposition.
  • Support and practice company Human Resource standards and guidelines, conducting performance appraisals and providing counsel and discipline as needed.
  • Utilize established Vendor Programs to optimize operations.
  • Adhere to government safety guidelines and ensure proper procedures are in place for handling accidents, fire, and emergency situations.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Operations.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the HVAC or Plumbing industry.
  • Ability to utilize basic computer applications, including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet.
