Wound Care Specialist

Healogics is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Wound Care Specialist. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care and handle intake and discharge processes for our Wound Care Center patients. You will also have the opportunity to serve as a Case Manager to a group of assigned patients, providing education and support to help them achieve their desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide patient care to Wound Care Center patients and handle patient intake and discharge processes as assigned and according to hospital and nursing standards
* Assist in vein clinic as assigned after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training
* May serve as Case Manager to a group of patients as assigned
Requirements:
* Degree in Nursing (ADN)
* Current RN license in the state of practice - to be maintained throughout the duration of employment in the position
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
* Medical Surgical, Home Health or Wound Care Certification preferred
* Wound care experience preferred
Working Knowledge:
* Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
* Demonstrated organization, prioritization and time-management skills
* Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare
Physical Demands:
* Being in a stationary position for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
* Repetitive motions
* Moving about
* Pushing/pulling
* Reading
* Bending/stooping
* Communicating
* Reaching/grasping/touching with hands
* Detecting sounds by ear
* Writing
* Close, distance and peripheral vision
* Traveling distances (car, airplane, etc.)
* Color perception
* Lifting/moving items up to 20 pounds
* Viewing computer screen for extended periods of time (4 hours or more)
* Lifting/moving items up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance
Work Environment:
* Normal office environment
* Exposure to mechanical equipment
* Patient care environment
* Electrical current
* Proximity to moving objects
* Exposure to Hazards (blood borne pathogens, body fluids, toxic chemicals, flammable explosive gases, etc)
