COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

JOB SUMMARY

This position is accountable for overseeing financial forecasting and reporting for a multi-site region. The role involves delivering insights and analyses of financial performance metrics. It identifies trends and proposes recommendations for various profitability factors, focusing particularly on operational expense management and inventory shrinkage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze key drivers of operational expense variances against planned and previous year results.
  • Identify underperforming accounts and recommend strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Provide detailed analysis regarding the key drivers of operational expense variances.
  • Engage in the recruitment, training, and management of the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and management of finance associates and cashiers.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory team to identify opportunities for reducing both operational and non-operational shrink.
  • Assess the financial impact of significant operational cost control initiatives.
  • In partnership with the Region Vice President of Finance, lead the shrink committee by site and for the overall region.
  • Assist the Region Vice President of Finance and Market Vice President of Finance with monthly performance forecasting.
  • Ensure that overall trends and the effects of key initiatives are accurately represented in the forecast.
  • Work collaboratively with each department to ensure understanding of the overall forecast and the impact of their initiatives.
  • Assist the Region Vice President of Finance in preparing the Annual Profit Plan (AOP) regarding operational expenses and initiatives.
  • Act as a champion and local expert in Sysco's analytical tools.
  • Responsible for preparing all capital investment proposals for the region.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics required.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis and/or accounting is required.
  • Prior managerial experience is preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Capability to lead and manage clerical staff.
