About the Position

The Aquatic Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests in and near the pool area at the Artesia Aquatic Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce all pool rules and regulations to prevent injuries and minimize hazardous situations.
  • Provide patron surveillance and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Handle injuries, accidents, and emergency situations in a professional and timely manner.
  • Arrive on time and be prepared to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Instruct guests of various ages in swimming, water safety, and other aquatic programming.
  • Complete assigned cleaning duties and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Attend in-service training as scheduled and stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate the ticket sales booth and handle cash transactions.
  • Be knowledgeable about facility programs, including pricing and scheduling.
  • Enforce venue policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality and discretion with guest and team member information.
Requirements
  • Current certification in Deep Water Lifeguard Training by the American Red Cross and First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and provide excellent customer service.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
