We seek a graduate from an accredited nursing program recognized by the appropriate licensing authority. A current Texas (or BNE Compact State) nursing license is required, with a preference for a BSN. Professional certification in a nursing organization is also preferred. Please note that specialty areas may have additional experience or certification requirements as dictated by unit standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments, taking into account age-specific criteria.
- Proactively anticipate the needs and expectations of patients and their families, integrating these insights into the care plan.
- Employ critical thinking skills to effectively plan and prioritize nursing care, adhering to unit competencies.
- Identify and implement suitable nursing interventions based on thorough assessments, coordinating with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust care plans accordingly, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Comply with hospital and nursing department policies, procedures, and established standards of nursing practice.
- Facilitate patient and family education, ensuring understanding of care plans, special diets, tests, and medications.
- Conduct regular patient rounds and maintain open communication regarding care timelines.
- Advocate for resources that enhance patient safety and contribute to departmental initiatives.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives focused on patient care quality and safety.
- Engage in multidisciplinary quality improvement teams and share knowledge with colleagues and students.
