Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist II to join our team at Penn State Health. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for maintaining patient flow, designing exercise parameters, and ensuring the overall safety of patients during exercise/testing sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain patient flow and design exercise parameters for various stress tests, including exercise stress tests, cardiopulmonary stress tests, pharmacological stress tests, and nuclear stress tests.
  • Assume an elevated role, instructing students and new hires, and participating in special interest projects.
  • Perform various stress tests and non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, utilizing clinical knowledge and professional judgment.
  • Prepare, assess, and provide care for patients throughout the procedure.
  • Test patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including treadmill and ergometer protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient tolerance to tests, including chest pain, and prepare studies for physician interpretation.
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond according to emergency protocols, utilizing BLS and ACLS skills, and obtaining emergency medical equipment.
  • Provide outstanding service to all customers, foster teamwork, and practice fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
Requirements
  • Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology or other Allied Health-related degree required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification) required within six months of hire.
  • CPR/BLS certificate for Health Care Providers required.
  • A minimum of two years clinical cardiovascular experience.
