Aviation Ground Service Equipment Mechanic

Menzies Aviation is seeking a skilled Aviation Ground Service Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and rebuilding of airport service vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect and Repair Vehicles: Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles, and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Hydrate Electric Equipment: Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule.
- Repair Non-Motorized Equipment: Repair all non-motorized equipment.
- Program and Understand Rapid Charger: Able to program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger, including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID).
- Repair and Replace Tires and Wheels: Repair and replace all tires and wheels.
- Perform Quality Control Checks: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the equipment.
- Maintain Records: Maintain records relating to maintenance.
- Drive and Operate Service Equipment Vehicles: Drive and operate service equipment vehicles.
- Accident Inspection and Reporting: Able to perform an accident inspection on involved equipment and report all accidents to Shop Supervisors and Managers.
- Answer Radioed Repair Calls: Answer all radioed repair calls on the ramp.
- Ensure Effective Aircraft Services: Ensure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment.
- Safe Operation of Vehicles and GSE: Must be able to safely operate all vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Maintain a Safe and Secure Work Environment: Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- 3 to 5 Years Mechanical Experience: 3 to 5 years mechanical experience.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid US Driver's License: Must possess a valid US driver's license.
- Background Check and Physical Test: Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical test, and a drug screen.
- English Language Proficiency: Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
- Lifting and Moving Requirements: Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs.
- Availability and Flexibility: Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Weather Conditions: Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Airport Badge: Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport Badges.
- Education and Experience: Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical Tools and Toolbox: Required: Must possess mechanical tools and a toolbox.
