Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled CH47 D/E/F Aircraft Maintenance Test Pilot to join our team. As a key member of our flight operations team, you will be responsible for conducting flight tests and maintenance operations on the CH47 D/E/F aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Flight Test Operations: Conduct flight tests to measure performance and handling of the CH47 D/E/F aircraft following maintenance or modifications.
  • Maintenance Operations: Perform maintenance tasks on the CH47 D/E/F aircraft, including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Weight and Balance: Compute and annotate weight and balance logs for the aircraft.
  • Flight Planning: File flight plans for all flights using authorized navigational processes.
  • Communication: Communicate with military pilots and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Airworthiness: Determine the airworthiness of the aircraft prior to release for flight.
  • Recovery Flights: Perform recovery flights and ferry aircraft to additional sites.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues with the aircraft on the ground and during flight.
  • Operational Readiness: Evaluate the operational readiness of the aircraft and recommend corrective action.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of aviation maintenance experience required.
  • Skills: Proficient in flying operations of the CH47 D/E/F aircraft, ability to compute and annotate weight and balance logs, and working knowledge of navigational and communication equipment.
  • Certifications: Possess a current valid Army or FAA Class II Medical Certificate, and an instrument rating on their FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven Aviation Experience: Demonstrated proven and verifiable aviation experience, including ethics, ability, and professionalism of the highest standards.
  • Communication Skills: Must have demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, and be fluent in the English language.
Working Environment
  • Physical Demands: May be exposed to extreme noise, fumes, or airborne particles, and must be physically capable of climbing vertical ladders or built-in aircraft steps to heights of 10-12 feet.
  • Environmental Factors: May be exposed to rapid or extreme temperature changes, and must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
