Ophthalmology Support Specialist - Eye Care Services

REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient Ophthalmic Technician
Minimum of 1 year experience in an ophthalmic or optometric setting
Familiarity with both Automatic and Manual Refraction techniques
Competent in basic office technology and computer operations
COA/COT certification is advantageous
Experience with EPIC systems is a plus
Strong customer service, organizational, and multitasking abilities are essential
High School diploma or equivalent is required

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Ophthalmology Support Specialist will undertake various tasks including but not limited to:
Delivering pre-operative and post-operative assistance to patients by adhering to established protocols
Assessing eyeglass prescriptions
Utilizing diverse ophthalmic diagnostic instruments
Administering eye drops for anesthesia, dilation, or medication
Preparing patients for procedures and aiding the ophthalmologist during LASIK operations
Educating patients by providing insights regarding treatments, medications, and eye care
Maintaining confidentiality through meticulous management of medical records
Ensuring high-quality patient care through effective communication and service
Contributing to lead generation for laser vision correction procedures
Fostering a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for patients
Conducting routine maintenance on instruments
Assisting the ophthalmologist in the surgical suite during LASIK procedures
Being adaptable and open to additional responsibilities as required.
Excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
