Medical Data Entry Associate

Job Summary
As a Medical Data Entry Associate - Operations, you will play a critical role in supporting the department and patient care by performing a wide range of logistic responsibilities across the campus area.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport, deliver, clean, and/or retrieve a variety of patient equipment, specimens, medical gases, linen, and receiving functions in support of patient care.
- Perform tasks in accordance with departmental customer service standards, and department Service Level Agreement (SLA), policies and procedures.
- Deliver and retrieve a variety of equipment, supplies, flowers, some food items, specimens, medical gases, and other items according to dispatcher or dispatch systems, to patient care areas in support of the SLA to ensure the continuity of patient care.
- Complete dispatched work requests in response to shift leader direction of Service Response Center requests.
- Maintain designated storage areas for equipment and supplies.
- Ensure equipment is brought to and pulled from designated storage areas.
- Work with maintenance to ensure broken equipment is repaired.
- Identify and tag unserviceable pieces of equipment through the course of normal operations.
- Transport specimens from patient divisions to clinical laboratories and operate the tube system to ensure proper movement of patient specimens or information.
- Pick up and deliver specimens to required locations (Labs) through direction of SRC, or shift leader.
- If necessary, fill isolation stations on patient care units.
- Transfer dirty linen from linen to transporting trailer to ensure timely turnaround on bulk linen deliveries.
- Operate electric tow tractors and scooters always ensuring safe operation.
- Accept supplies/packages/equipment for distribution to customer departments.
- Perform duties as purchasing receiver.
- Receive all goods delivered to the hospital warehouse from the receiving platform.
- Issue warehouse supplies in using departments.
- Replenish shelves with supplies for cart picking aisles.
- Participate in annual fiscal year inventory and assist in inventory cycle counts.
Requirements
A minimum of a high school graduate or GED.
One year hospital supply operations or equivalent preferred.
Basic level computer skills to operate PC in a windows environment, with ability to learn and demonstrate competency in basic data entry/data retrieval in departmental information systems utilized within unit.
Operate a variety of materials handling equipment.
