Job Opportunity
The City of Chesapeake is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an intern in the Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Planning Division.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing various specifications, designs, reports, charts, maps, site plans, spreadsheets, presentations, and other documentation related to development of long and short-term projects.
- Research available resources, collect data, and analyze facts to support planning and project assignments.
- Assist with preparing master plans, conceptual plans, reports/correspondences, and other documentation to provide planning support for facilities, projects, and assignments. Perform routine office tasks.
- Research, establish, identify, and enforce property boundaries and easements.
- Assist staff, other departments, community organizations, and the general public with general facility planning tasks.
- Document and inventory historical and other pertinent data and report related to Department resources, projects, properties, leases, facilities, and open spaces.
Requirements:
- Requires college-level coursework in planning, project management.
- Must be a college student in good academic standing or a recent college graduate (i.e., within one year of graduation).
