Medical Assistant

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant role at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is a vital part of our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will work under the direct supervision of a clinic physician to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient interviews and measure vital signs
- Record information on patients' Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Perform administrative tasks, including registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of Medical Assistant training from an accredited program
- BLS (CPR) Certification
- A minimum of 1 year phlebotomy and MA experience
- One year of experience in an ambulatory care setting
