Family Medicine Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Prevea Health in Pulaski. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
- Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders, and prepare patient charts.
- Instruct patients and families as directed within the scope of licensure or certification.
- Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards, ensuring appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
- Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
- 160 hours of hands-on patient care is required.
- Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse is preferred.
- Current experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
- Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess skills to effectively solve problems.
- Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment.
- Possess effective written and verbal communication.
- Certified as a Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant in the state of WI through an approved accreditor is required.
- Valid Practical Nursing license in the state of WI through an approved accreditor is required.
- Licensed EMT or AEMT and maintain this credential throughout employment is required.
- CPS/BLS Certification Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from approved program or Prevea sponsored program is required.
- Extreme cold, extreme heat, humidity, wet, noise, and hazards are rare.
- Hears whispers < 3 feet constantly.
- Hears whispers 3-8 feet constantly.
- Color discrimination, near vision, and distance vision are required constantly.
