Responsibilities
Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds. Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders, and prepare patient charts. Instruct patients and families as directed within the scope of licensure or assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications. Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.

Requirements
Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing is required. 160 hours of hands-on patient care is also required. Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse is preferred. Current experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is also preferred. Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care, knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care, and knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment are also required. Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors. Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level, ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also required. Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment. Possess effective written and verbal communication skills. If holds other licenses that supersede CMA/RMA license, may practice to the highest level of licensure with the approval of Quality Resources in writing. Approval to be kept on file with department supervisor. Employee must maintain licensure to continue working at a higher level of service. Certified as a Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant in the state of WI through an approved accreditor. Upon hire, valid Practical Nursing license in the state of WI through an approved accreditor is required. Licensed EMT or AEMT and maintain this credential throughout employment. Upon hire, CPS/BLS Certification Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from an approved program or Prevea sponsored program is required.
