Position Overview
The Production Control Specialist effectively conveys job expectations to the data entry and order detailing teams, as well as Capacity Planners, while overseeing, evaluating, and reviewing their performance. This role involves assessing the accuracy of order entries and modifications, analyzing sales returns due to entry inaccuracies, and collaborating with operations to establish production schedules that align with strategic plans. Adherence to company policies and procedures is enforced as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Regularly reviews error rates and sales returns on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis, providing ongoing feedback to identify improvement opportunities. Monitors various workflow communication channels to ensure timely correspondence. Maintains and disseminates metrics to track schedule compliance, deviations from plans, capacity shortages, and more. Reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. Cultivates a strong, trusting, and supportive relationship with all members of the Production/Warehouse Team, Customer Service, Account Service, Credit teams, and the broader organization. Initiates scrap requests when there are shortages or damages to items. Collaborates with Production on delayed or problematic orders and liaises with customer care as needed. Addresses feedback from the Production floor and communicates with customers when required. Updates and modifies orders as necessary. Coordinates with the Warehouse department regarding order fulfillments. Tracks and updates reports on late shipments. Participates in quality meetings, reviewing reports and presenting errors to Supervisors and Managers. Works with shipping carriers on international orders that encounter customs issues, ensuring the proper documentation is provided for product clearance. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.Required Qualifications
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity. Capable of producing precise reports and updating information within systems. Maintains a high level of accuracy across all relevant functions. Demonstrates the ability to work cooperatively, collaboratively, and independently. Exhibits calmness and patience in potentially stressful situations. Models appropriate attitudes and behaviors while maintaining a positive outlook. Acts in accordance with all company policies and procedures. Identifies opportunities for improvement and engages in problem-solving. Thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.Experience Requirements:
A high school diploma with two years of relevant experience is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. Proven design capabilities and a solid understanding of typography and layout.
