Job Title: EH&S Specialist

Fortis Fire & Safety Inc. is seeking a highly skilled EH&S Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety council, you will be responsible for driving performance and compliance across multiple branches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide regulatory and technical assistance to site management and supervisors.
  • Review and maintain an Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
  • Commitment to protecting every team member by continuously improving our safety systems and moving forward to the Fortis way.
  • Perform routine reviews to evaluate site compliance with safety policies, programs, procedures, systems, and regulations.
  • Monitor employee exposure to safety hazards and make recommendations to resolve or reduce.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an EH&S role that includes responsibility for field-based construction, service, oil and gas, or manufacturing employees.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA / EPA / Cal/OSHA / Cal/EPA regulations required.
  • Experience and commitment to developing and implementing a safety culture committed to risk reduction.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in Fire safety and suppression systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Sciences or related field from four-year College or university preferred.
  • More than 5 years of experience in an EHS Role.
Travel Requirements:

Position travels within the southern California area to oversee Safety and Environmental activities on job sites. Occasional travel to other branches nationally will be required.

Compensation:

$35 - $40

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Team member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The Team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
