As a Recreation Lead Staff at Communitas, Inc., you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers individualized services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are committed to creating a positive and meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Job Description
This part-time position is responsible for leading various Recreation programs, including social outings, arts and crafts, sports, fitness, dance, swimming, cooking, and educational activities. You will supervise participants, recreation assistants, and volunteers, and work closely with community resources to provide exceptional support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Recreation programs that promote participant engagement and safety.
- Supervise and involve participants, including transportation, supervision, and one-on-one support when needed.
- Collaborate with community resources to deliver high-quality programs.
- Provide direct support and contact with individuals and caregivers.
- Perform emergency duties, including contacting emergency services and providing transportation.
- Track volunteer hours and assist in program evaluation.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Minimum of one year of related experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or experience in recreation/sports activity leadership.
- Prior experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- A passion and dedication to supporting our people is essential.
