Job Overview

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER | KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead projects from inception to completion, encompassing initial project scope, budget management, scheduling, on-site operations, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Supervise due diligence and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Oversee sites utilizing a risk-based decision-making approach that aligns with regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage investigation, remediation, and closure of underground and aboveground storage tank projects.
  • Direct brownfield voluntary cleanup initiatives.
  • Engage with clients, colleagues, regulators, and insurance representatives both in the field and office settings.
  • Conduct and supervise sampling and data collection for various environmental media, including air, water, and soil, for laboratory analysis.
  • Document field activities through comprehensive paperwork.
  • Plan and oversee investigation and remediation tasks, such as the installation of monitoring wells and soil sampling.
  • Handle waste management for remediation and sampling, ensuring proper packaging and labeling of hazardous materials.
  • Research and compile detailed reports, including status updates, groundwater sampling results, and risk assessments.
  • Request information from governmental and regulatory bodies as necessary.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER | REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Possesses an entrepreneurial mindset and a curiosity that fosters innovative solutions to client challenges.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective team player.
  • Demonstrates strong time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER | EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Must hold a Professional Engineer License in Missouri and/or Illinois.
  • Professional Geologist license is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • A Master's degree in Civil or Environmental engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in site investigation, remediation engineering, and optimization of remedies.
  • Familiarity with navigating CERCLA, RCRA, and UST regulations is essential; knowledge of TSCA, FIFRA, EPCRA, CWA, CAA, and/or SDWA is advantageous.

• Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 Annually
