Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support our Corporate Controller with general accounting functions and operations at Avita Pharmacy.

About the Role:
  • Assist the Corporate Controller with directing the organization's accounting functions, including financial reporting, planning, and budgeting systems.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial systems, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Manage a team of approximately six members and seven sublevel team members, including planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising and managing performance, and addressing issues and resolving problems.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and prepare monthly consolidations.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable Team, including one Supervisor and four staff.
  • Manage a Junior Accountant responsible for wholesaler and 340B payments, and booking revenue and COGS for two legacy companies.
  • Manage a Senior Accountant who is responsible for numerous tasks, including booking revenue and COGS for three legacy companies, debt accounting, goodwill and intangibles accounting, business insurance accounting, and daily cash forecasting.
  • Manage a Staff Accountant who is responsible for numerous tasks, including fixed assets, sales and use taxes, and property taxes.
  • Supervise Avita Pharmacy's Medical Billing staff, including one supervisor and three staff.
  • Monitor and confirm financial conditions by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Assist with implementing new accounting initiatives, processes, and systems, as well as new pharmacy locations, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
  • Follow HIPAA, FWA, Corporate Compliance, and all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Consistently exercise discretion and good judgment in all business matters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
About You:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or closely related field of study.
  • 5+ years of professional Accounting experience; healthcare/pharmacy industry experience a plus.
  • CPA and Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experienced and adept with accounting software programs.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines and tax laws that affect the company.
  • Willing and able to work extra hours as needed during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, etc.
