Job SummaryWe are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in a hospital-based clinic setting. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic.
Responsibilities- Assist medical and nursing staff with various tasks, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine administrative duties, such as answering telephones, updating patient records, and scheduling appointments.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician, authorize drug refills, and telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy.
- Draw blood, prepare patients for x-rays, tests, and procedures, and take electrocardiograms.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required; BLS Certification also required.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting required for CMA II; at least 3 years of experience required for CMA III.
