Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care and supporting administrative tasks in a medical practice.

As a CMA, you will assist medical and nursing staff in various tasks, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.

You will also be responsible for performing routine administrative duties, such as answering telephones, updating patient records, and scheduling appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist medical and nursing staff in patient care and administrative tasks
  • Take medical histories, record vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Perform routine administrative duties, including answering telephones and updating patient records
  • Schedule appointments and arrange for hospital admissions and laboratory services
  • Handle billing and bookkeeping, and authorize drug refills as directed

Requirements:

  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required
  • BLS certification required
  • High school or GED graduation required
  • Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES preferred

Work Environment:
