Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team at Windham Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including air handling units, ductwork, and thermostats.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues, including pneumatic controls, automated building systems, and boiler and burner controls.
  • Record and maintain detailed logs of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other staff members to prioritize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in HVAC maintenance and repair.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in HVAC maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, with a focus on HVAC systems.
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license and willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related travel.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights greater than 5 feet.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
