Maintenance HVAC Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance HVAC Technician to join our team at Windham Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our district's HVAC systems, performing routine maintenance, and making repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including air handling systems, duct work, and thermostat control
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and devices, including pneumatic controls, automated building systems, and steam and hot and cold water piping
  • Record and maintain logs of repairs performed, condition of area, and/or action taken
  • Perform other related general maintenance duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School or vocational school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must possess and maintain one or more of the following licenses as issued by the State of Connecticut, S-2, D-1 or D-2 or P2
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of all BMS systems
  • Minimum of five (5) years of mechanical and/or structural building maintenance experience
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and perform in the trade from sketches and blueprints
  • Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with principals, custodians, and others
