Maintenance HVAC Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance HVAC Technician to join our team at Windham Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our district's HVAC systems, including maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including air handling units, ductwork, and thermostats
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC issues, including pneumatic controls and automated building systems
  • Inspect and maintain steam and hot and cold water piping, valves, and controls
  • Repair and maintain boiler and burner controls, chillers, and refrigeration systems
  • Perform other related general maintenance duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School or vocational school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must possess and maintain one or more of the following licenses as issued by the State of Connecticut, S-2, D-1 or D-2 or P2
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of all BMS systems
  • Minimum of five (5) years of mechanical and/or structural building maintenance experience
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and perform in the trade from sketches and blueprints
  • Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor and coordinate work with principals, custodians, and others
