As a prominent behavioral health organization in Fairfield County, Liberation Programs specializes in the treatment of various substance use disorders, including those related to alcohol, opiates, depressants, and stimulants. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to overcome addiction, restore their lives, and ultimately strengthen our communities. We offer a comprehensive range of services for youth, adults, and families, including inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and individuals living with chronic illnesses, resources for adolescents and their families, community education and prevention initiatives, and permanent supportive housing for families. Since our inception in 1971, we have been committed to serving our community, positively impacting the lives of over 2,400 individuals in the last fiscal year.

Role Responsibilities:

The counselor will play a vital role in supporting school-aged youth through their recovery journey, employing a variety of evidence-based practices and techniques. As a key member of an integrated healthcare team, the counselor will assist individuals in navigating the recovery process. Each individual's goals and aspirations will be central to a personalized care plan, collaboratively developed and implemented by all direct care providers at Liberation Programs. Service providers are expected to apply evidence-based practices in alignment with our organization's philosophy, values, policies, and protocols.

Work Schedule: 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (with some evenings and weekend days as necessary). On-site work will be determined based on the school schedule.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver culturally sensitive and engaging counseling services, focusing on aiding individuals in their recovery from addiction.
  • Connect clients with comprehensive support services available in the community.
  • Involve family members in the recovery process to enhance support.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all activities in accordance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
  • Demonstrated experience in a consumer-driven delivery system, showcasing reliability, punctuality, and effective collaboration with colleagues.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills are essential.
  • Must possess a kind, compassionate, and mission-driven approach.
