Job Overview

Family and Children's Agency Inc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Behavioral Health Intern in our Pre-Trial Intervention Program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the program's mission to provide education and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of our clients and be able to provide assessments to determine eligibility for the PTIP program. Additionally, you will facilitate 12-week group cycles to educate clients on the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol or illicit substances.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about making a positive impact in their community and is committed to delivering high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments to determine client eligibility for the PTIP program
  • Facilitate weekly group sessions to educate clients on the risks of driving under the influence
  • Collaborate with the IAR Specialist, court-appointed staff members, and lawyers to ensure clients complete evaluations and meet court requirements
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with organizational and legal requirements

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Behavioral Health field of study
  • Strong understanding of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients
  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required
