About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team at Brown-Forman. As a key member of our Global Supply Chain, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and technical excellence in our woodworking process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level technical support to our maintenance teams, including hands-on training, process documentation, OEM interface, and parts support.
  • Design and implement system upgrades for wood processing equipment, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Support capital projects through technical expertise during the concept, design, and implementation phases, ensuring compliance with Brown-Forman's safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with plant managers and operating and maintenance personnel to provide situational troubleshooting expertise, technical leadership, and project management expertise on plant project initiatives and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Lead the development of new or improved PLC and computer controls, process monitoring systems, and HMI applications, championing the adoption of beneficial technologies in plant operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Engineering or relevant field, or Associate's degree with 4 years of demonstrated applicable experience in technical engineering, service/support roles within an industrial environment.
  • Experience in industrial control software systems and applications, preferably in Siemens and Beckhoff platforms, with an emphasis on adaptability and learning additional platforms.
  • Experience with servo motion controls, scripting languages, and networking and computing communications protocols.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse work groups and demonstrate equipment/process troubleshooting skills.
