Job Title: Automation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team at Zobility, a workforce management and staffing division of RGBSI. As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining automation systems, including PLCs, robots, and conveyor systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze automation cycle times using Vis Plant monitoring software
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PLCs, robots, and other automation equipment
  • Update program backups for automation systems
  • Program new installations of body tooling and conveyor systems
  • Reprogram automation systems for engineering changes and improvements
  • Coordinate automation campaigns and projects
Requirements:
  • Fundamental knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix)
  • Electrical background (electrician or technician)
  • Related experience in automation and manufacturing
  • Allen Bradley Panel View use/programming AB Servo and AB VFD drives
  • Familiarity with VFDs, Armor starts, encoders, network/Ethernet controls
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of related experience in automation and manufacturing
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including 8Ds, FMEAs, and DMAICs
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and maintain automation systems
  • Fanuc robot experience
  • Kawasaki programming, RS Logics, Microsoft office
  • PLC programming
  • Ability to read prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics
  • Experienced in laser burning
  • Strong understanding of conveyor system programming and body tooling techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Simulation modeling exposure
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
  • DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience
  • TQM and Kaizen Methods
  • FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
  • Visual Factory Management
Education:
  • High School Diploma
