About the Role:

The Director of Sales and Business Development will oversee a team of Sales Leaders and Account Executives, responsible for selling into small and medium-sized local businesses within the wedding industry across the country. This role requires a dynamic and experienced professional to bring and execute a playbook centered on meeting and exceeding new business goals, accurately forecasting and committing to monthly performance, coaching and developing future leaders, and collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to the team of Sales Leaders and front line Sales Reps
Foster a high-performance culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Identify and develop future leaders within the team
Meet or exceed new business sales goals as defined by the annual plan/budget
Develop a weekly forecast to articulate current performance, and create systematic plans to accelerate or close the gap to goal
Develop strategy, tactics, and sales plans to achieve revenue targets
Set and cascade clear goals and desired outcomes with the team
Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets and align resources appropriately
Maintain sales staff by recruiting, hiring, and training employees, while balancing required performance management expectations

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or relevant experience, 10+ years of relevant professional experience in relevant work experience, with 3-5 years of senior Sales/Revenue leadership experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets, a plus if experience selling to small to medium-sized businesses. Previous experience managing and developing a team of sales leaders is also required. The candidate should have strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others, and a track record of working through challenges, willing to 'get into the weeds' on pitch, process and procedures to diagnose problems and develop solutions. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong background in B2B space, ideally with online marketplace and/or SaaS, online advertising/subscription products, and confidence in owning a line of business, making decisions and recommendations using a data-driven mindset, and leveraging change management skills.
