Research Computing Expert

Fulfill a crucial role at Harvard University as a Senior Storage Engineer. Reporting to the Associate Director of Storage Services, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust storage solutions for FAS Research Computing (RC) users.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of storage technology, including systems encompassing storage, cluster computing, network, and databases. Linux system administration skills are highly preferred.
You will collaborate closely with the storage group to deliver high-performance storage services, grasp present and future storage requirements, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with parallel file systems such as EMC/Isilon, VAST, Lustre, GPFS, Gluster, or Ceph is essential. Familiarity with data management tools like Starfish, Ngenea, and Robinhood is also advantageous.
This is a full-time position with flexible hours and a hybrid in-person/remote work schedule option. Occasional visits to data centers may be required.
Harvard University offers a competitive salary range of $155,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
