Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our Oncology Unit at Lancaster General Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals with various types of cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for providing high-quality patient care, adhering to the American Nurses Association standards of nursing practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate coordination of care across the continuum.
  • Participate in process improvement activities, focusing on increasing continuity in the nurse-to-patient relationship, minimizing rework, and redundancies.
  • Complete mandatory education and training, including review of age-specific needs, caring behaviors, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with established evidence-based practice policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • RN licensure issued by the PA Board of Nursing or a Temporary Practice Permit until an RN license is obtained.
  • A graduate registered nurse may only practice professional nursing under supervision and if the graduate registered nurse holds a current temporary practice permit.
  • All Clinical Nurse 1 RN's will be required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency Program.
  • CPR Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support, formerly Healthcare Provider (AHA Heart Saver AMA CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • As outlined in unit-based Plan for Provision of Care.
