Avera is actively seeking a Registered Nurse Coordinator dedicated to providing exceptional nursing care in patient-centered environments.

Position Summary

The RN Coordinator serves as a central contact for facilitating patient transfers to the most suitable Avera facility. This role involves collaboration to address each patient's specific needs and determine the ideal placement.

The Transfer Center provides essential services:


• Arranging for an accepting physician


• Coordinating patient placement


• Ensuring open lines of communication


• Confirming bed availability.

This role is crucial for managing assignments, tracking, and resolving issues to ensure timely patient placement. The RN collaborates with the Bed Placement Coordinator, nursing units, external facilities, and physicians to facilitate efficient patient movement within the system. The RN also gathers clinical information to maintain continuity of care and appropriate patient placement. Additionally, the RN monitors all transfers, identifies potential delays in care, and communicates effectively with the care team members.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred; graduation from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of nursing experience is preferred.
  • Experience in patient placement and logistics is preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota or meet multi-state licensure requirements.
  • Specialty certification is preferred.
  • Membership in a professional nursing organization is preferred.

Work Schedule

  • Hours:
    • Every 6th weekend and holiday rotation.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is outlined below. Actual pay will be based on experience.

  • $48.50 per hour
