Job Overview

CorVel Enterprise Comp, Inc. is in search of a dedicated Automobile and General Liability Claims Expert. This role involves managing Commercial Auto Property Damage (PD) and Bodily Injury (BI) Claims, as well as General Liability Claims, in accordance with company best practices. The Claims Expert will operate within assigned authority to achieve optimal results for both CorVel and its clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process incoming claims, verify coverage, and adhere to 24-hour contact protocols.
  • Make Liability determinations for each claim, following statutory guidelines and Service Handling Instructions.
  • Conduct investigations on straightforward to moderately complex Auto BI and PD claims, as well as General Liability claims.
  • Set timely reserves and authorize payments within established authority limits.
  • Maintain communication regarding claim status with clients, excess carriers, and defense counsel when necessary.
  • Follow client and carrier protocols and engage in claims reviews as required.
  • Prepare for and participate in file reviews, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and comprehensive knowledge of the claims involved.
  • Support fellow claims professionals with their cases as needed.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in handling Commercial Auto Claims.
  • Experience with Fast Track Claims is preferred.
  • Proficiency in General Liability claims management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong competency in presenting claims during file reviews.
  • Capability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues effectively.
  • High level of keyboarding proficiency is essential.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office, including Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet or exceed performance standards.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A willingness to adapt and thrive in a changing environment.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Home State Adjuster's License is mandatory; multi-state licensure is advantageous.
  • Experience with Third Party Administrators (TPA) is highly desirable.
  • At least two years of experience in Commercial Auto and General Liability claims.
  • Strong capability in presenting claims during file reviews.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.

COMPENSATION:

CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on location. Pay rates consider federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Salary ranges are subject to change.

For roles with levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be placed at a different level based on assessment during the interview process, considering experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position. The level may influence the salary range, and these details will be clarified during the offer process.

Compensation Range: $50,593 – $81,593
