Position Overview

THOR Solutions, LLC is in search of a dedicated Naval Mechanical Systems Technician to provide support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) C63 Department. This role is essential for the effective deployment and maintenance of advanced Underway Replenishment (UNREP) systems.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver mechanical technician engineering services for the installation and upkeep of E-STREAM, Current UNREP, and prototype UNREP systems.
  • Evaluate and contribute to the development of new or updated Technical Manuals, Engineering Drawings, and other technical documentation.
  • Assist in addressing logistics-related challenges as required.
  • Provide input for Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) when necessary.
  • Observe and report on factory acceptance testing processes.

Work Environment:

This position requires full-time onsite engagement at a designated naval base. The role may involve travel to various shipyard locations across the Eastern United States and potentially overseas.


Physical Requirements:

The role primarily involves desk and computer work in an office setting, with occasional visits to waterfront and shipboard environments. Candidates should be prepared for activities that may include repetitive motions and navigating confined spaces.


Security Clearance:

Eligibility for a DoD Secret security clearance is mandatory. Candidates must either possess an active or interim Secret security clearance or be eligible for one upon hire.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in providing Naval Mechanical support, ideally within the U.S. Department of Defense, Navy, or Coast Guard sectors.
  • Experience in a shipyard, as a contractor, or as active-duty Navy is preferred.
  • Familiarity with UNREP equipment and hydraulics, particularly as a Naval Engineman, Machinist Mate, or Boatswain.
  • Understanding of new UNREP systems, shipyard operations, and program management to effectively implement new systems across various platforms.
