Naval Surface Warfare Center Engineer

Job Summary
The Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. As an Interdisciplinary Engineer, you will play a critical role in investigating, analyzing, and recommending solutions to complex design and installation problems that impact the success of DoD's efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as an Interdisciplinary Engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, working independently and within Integrated Process Teams (IPTs) to interpret Technical and Performance Specifications.
- Investigate, analyze, and recommend solutions to critical design and installation problems that have a significant impact on the success of DoD's efforts.
- Define, develop, and perform engineering tasks in support of Surveillance Radar system design, development, documentation, shipboard and laboratory testing.
- Present recommendations and solutions regarding complex concepts based on analysis and evaluation.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must be able to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- Must be able to climb ladders, lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and work in Shipboard environments and government field locations.
Qualifications
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS 9-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Engineer applying engineering concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and report on test and evaluation data for radar systems projects.
Education
- Successful completion of a professional engineering degree from a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
- OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
