Job Overview
AAPL seeks a highly motivated Senior RF Communications Specialist to contribute to all phases of communications systems development.
- The selected candidate will design, implement, and analyze prototype link adaptation algorithms for future resilient and secure communications networks operating in highly contested environments.
- This role involves working as part of a team to develop communications solutions based on application needs and considerations such as space, weight, and power, and propagation environment.
- The ideal candidate will provide status updates, analysis results, and algorithms in written reports and presentations to Laboratory, Government, and Contractor management.
- Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in developing and updating strategic plans for growth efforts in the technical area, and in business development opportunities.
The Senior RF Communications Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing prototype link adaptation algorithms for future resilient and secure communications networks.
They will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate communications systems.
The role also involves developing and maintaining technical documentation, presenting findings to management, collaborating with senior leadership to identify and prioritize business development opportunities, and staying current with emerging technologies and advances in wireless communications systems and waveforms.
Furthermore, the successful candidate will develop and deliver training programs to educate colleagues on new technologies and methodologies.
Requirements- A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in communications system design.
- Extensive experience in wireless communications systems and waveforms.
- Experience in FPGA development.
- Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) design principles.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of physical, link, and network layers of communication systems.
- Experience in digital design, digital signal processing, and communications systems.
- Experience in aspects of embedded systems design and specification, embedded software development, and design verification/test.
- Experience in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
- Effective communication of ideas and results.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.
