Job Summary

Goodwill Industries of Southern California is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to lead the efficient operation of a Clearance Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations functions, including sales, production, customer service, payroll, safety, and expense control. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the Site Manager to achieve established goals and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Clearance Center, including supervising a team of Ambassadors and ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve sales, production, and customer service, while maintaining a focus on safety and expense control.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to achieve established goals and standards, and provide input on performance appraisals and recognition programs.
  • Train and develop Ambassadors to meet sales and production goals, and provide coaching and guidance on customer service and de-escalation techniques.
  • Monitor and maintain salesfloor, production area, structural, electrical, store equipment, landscaping, housekeeping, loss prevention, and safety to company standards.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a customer-focused management role.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree helpful.
  • Ability to multitask projects of varying scope and complexity with minimum supervision.
  • Strong communication, training, developing, and people skills.
  • Demonstrated success with process accountability and multi-tasking.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
  • Understanding of the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participation in carrying out its mission.
  • Adherence to Goodwill's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
