Software Development Engineer for Autonomy

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer for Autonomy to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the development of the next generation of autonomous systems, focusing on improving the decision-making capabilities of our systems in real-time, contested environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and implement autonomy algorithms and software stacks for UAS, drones, and other unmanned systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate autonomy capabilities with various sensors and control systems.
- Design and implement real-time software for autonomous navigation, perception, and control systems.
- Contribute to the development of machine learning-based autonomy, enhancing decision-making for tasks such as target tracking, obstacle avoidance, and GPS-denied navigation.
- Lead software development efforts for deploying autonomous systems in fielded applications.
- Troubleshoot and improve system performance in real-world scenarios, ensuring robustness and reliability.
- Document code, algorithms, and system designs, and provide technical support to integration and test teams.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in autonomy, software development, or robotics.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time systems and algorithm development.
- Strong experience in developing software for autonomous systems, including navigation, control, and perception.
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System), PX4, or similar autonomy software platforms.
- Solid understanding of AI/ML techniques, sensor fusion, and real-time processing in embedded systems.
- Familiarity with UAS, drones, and aerospace platforms.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience debugging complex systems in real-world environments.
- Knowledge of aerospace and defense applications is a plus.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance if required.
