Job Summary

ASM Global, a leading provider of public assembly facilities, is seeking a highly skilled Event Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for maintaining high security standards before, during, and after events, including theatre shows, conventions, trade shows, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming experience for all.
  • Screening and Access Control: Operate a walkthrough magnetometer/metal detecting wand to screen guests, employees, and contractors as needed, and accurately check all guest bags to determine whether items contain objects that warrant further investigation.
  • Area Management: Maintain restricted and barricaded areas for security purposes and verify credentials to ensure control of access into restricted areas.
  • Incident Response: Respond immediately and professionally to guest disturbances/incidents and provide assistance to guests during emergency situations, such as sheltering in place and evacuations of the building.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work cooperatively with other departments and vendors within the facility, answer guests' questions in a knowledgeable, helpful, and professional manner, and consistently enforce facility policies and procedures relative to prohibited items, disruptive guests, etc.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Previous customer service experience or experience in guest relations is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to listen and follow instructions, ability to listen effectively, take and execute directions as given, ability to remain calm and focused during times of stress, work independently, exercising judgment and initiative to diffuse situations, and maintain an effective working relationship with clients, co-workers, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to access a computer with Internet access for use of our scheduling system.
  • Dress Code: Employees will be required to wear the company-issued polo, black pants, and black shoes for every shift.
  • Hours of Work and Travel Requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule including, but not limited to, days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and meet acceptable attendance standards for those events for which they are scheduled.
