Job Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Director of Development, Major Gifts will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy for UConn Athletics. This includes identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from alumni, friends, and corporate partners to support the athletic department's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, with a focus on securing gifts of $100,000 or more.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from alumni, friends, and corporate partners.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development to set and achieve fundraising goals.
  • Work closely with the Athletics Development team, University and Foundation colleagues, and other advancement professionals to achieve goals and elevate the success of the Athletics Department and Foundation.
  • Perform administrative duties related to advancement work, including documenting activity, writing proposals, and inputting engagement plans in the relationship management database.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a major gift fundraiser and/or relevant transferrable skills.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite and donor management systems.
