Job Title: Gift Accounting and Data Specialist

Job Summary:

The Gift Accounting and Data Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of gifts, pledges, and donations received by Connecticut Children's. This position will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the donor database, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and providing exceptional support to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and record gifts, pledges, and donations in the donor database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Monitor and update donor information, ensuring that all relevant data is current and accurate.
  • Assist with daily balancing of gift entries, cash deposits, credit card transactions, and other financial transactions.
  • Support the reporting needs of departments within the Foundation, providing data and insights to inform fundraising strategies.
  • Serve as a primary data administrator, updating donor biographical information and research-related updates.
  • Collaborate with the Prospect Research Team and Stewardship & Donor Relations Team to identify and engage with potential donors.
  • Manage the input and uploading of large gift data inputs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional support to frontline staff and leaders, ensuring that gift reporting needs are met and maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including occasional weekend and evening work.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or relevant experience and training required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising database gift accounting, management, book-keeping, and/or accounting.
  • Intermediate business and professional knowledge and experience working with Salesforce, Classy, iWave, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated understanding of gift data administration and ability to develop approaches and manage work to ensure the highest quality outcomes and deliverables.
  • Exceptional judgment, integrity, and ability to exercise discretion handling confidential and sensitive financial and personal information.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work with a positive attitude in a team-oriented environment.
