Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant at Eastern Connecticut Hematology and Oncology, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support to our team of dedicated professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Proficiently complete patient rooming process, including vital signs, lab orders, and medication management.
Enter lab orders accurately and print labels and tubes correctly.
Review and update patient charts, including PHQ-9, Pain Scale, and Patient Activation Measures.
Monitor medication refills, review MD notes, and submit refill requests as needed.
Communicate patient issues with providers, social workers, and supervisors.
Answer patient questions and return calls in a timely manner.
Review and prep provider schedules, addressing any scheduling issues that require attention.
Maintain HIPAA policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate:
At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, with hem/onc experience preferred but not required. Associate's degree preferred but not required. Strong working knowledge of HIPAA and proven work experience in a team-oriented environment.
