Motor Vehicle Operator

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Operator to join our team. As a Motor Vehicle Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a vehicle to transport mail, supplies, and related items within and outside the hospital property.
Key Responsibilities- Transportation and Delivery: Operate a vehicle to pick up and deliver mail, supplies, and related items to various locations within and outside the hospital property.
- Vehicle Safety and Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Communication and Customer Service: Use a paging system to receive and respond to transport requests, and build and maintain positive working relationships with hospital staff using principles of good customer service.
- Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols to ensure no injury to self or others, including proper body mechanics, safe driving, and infection control.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- License: Appropriate New York State Driver's License required.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods of time required.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions required.
