Job Title: Signal Helper

MTA, Inc. is seeking a skilled Signal Helper to join our team. As a Signal Helper, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of railway signals and electrical systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of railway signals and electrical systems
  • Perform routine inspections and tests to ensure the safe and efficient operation of signals and electrical systems
  • Assist in the repair and replacement of faulty or damaged signals and electrical equipment
  • Work under the direction of a Signal Maintainer or Assistant Signal Maintainer
Requirements:
  • One year of full-time experience as a Helper in the electrical, electronic, or electromechanical trade
  • Vocational high school diploma or trade school certificate in the electrical or electronic field
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Driver License
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory, including Ohm's Law
  • Ability to use a digital multi-meter and various hand tools and power equipment/drills
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and knowledge of Programmable Logic Computers (PLC)
  • Previous Signal related experience or completion of Classroom Signal Training
