Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with regional and central support staff to drive continuous improvement of plant equipment. This role will focus on implementing innovative, low-life-cycle-cost engineering solutions for operations and maintenance issues, as well as supporting capital projects in accordance with industry-accepted engineering practices, governing regulations, and operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and analyze equipment predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Direct equipment root cause incident investigations to identify and address issues promptly.
  • Communicate risks associated with all stages of the asset life cycle to stakeholders.
  • Perform plant and system-level engineering studies to inform decision-making.
  • Develop comprehensive capital improvement projects, including clear scope definitions, investment valuations, and execution plans.
  • Evaluate and recommend contractors and technical service providers to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Ensure engineering documentation is retained, including drawings, reference manuals, and related information.
  • Utilize central information systems to ensure accurate project costing.
Requirements
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred, or pursuing licensure upon hire.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in an engineering environment, with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical designs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed throughout MA, NH, and VT.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time-management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on AutoCAD and MicroStation CAD packages.
