Job Title: Software Engineering Resolution Network Engineer

This role is part of our Level 3 global service HPC team at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). We are seeking an experienced-level Software Engineering Resolution engineer to provide support for high performance computing networks on a variety of supercomputer and cluster based products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Designs engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Leads a project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for moderately complex products.
  • Represents the mechanical/thermal team for all phases of larger and more complex development projects.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
  • Provides technical support for customer-reported issues escalated to level 3 support.
  • Analyzes, reproduces, troubleshoots, isolates, escalates, and resolves issues.
  • Facilitates high-quality communication with customers.
  • Works with various HPE teams, including but not limited to, HPE Level 2 support, Publications, Training, Support Planning, Testing, and Cray R&D.
  • Tests and provides new network software updates and documentation via customer portal.
  • Documents and communicates throughout the whole process of working an issue until closure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field/discipline.
  • 5+ years of technical experience, ideally in an HPC-related area.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of material properties and hardware, software, and electrical component design.
  • Using empirical analysis, modeling, and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Strong Linux networking knowledge and experience.
  • Strong experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, and enterprise-level switch configuration.
