Job Description:

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Resolution Network Engineer to join our Level 3 global service HPC team. This role involves providing support for high performance computing networks on a variety of supercomputer and cluster based products.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Leads a project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately-complex products.
  • Represents the mechanical/thermal team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
  • Provide technical support for customer reported issues escalated to level 3 support.
  • Analyze, reproduce, troubleshoot, isolate, escalate, and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate high quality communication with customers.
  • Work with various HPE teams, including but not limited to, HPE Level 2 support, Publications, Training, Support Planning, Testing and Cray R&D.
  • Test and provide new network software updates and documentation via customer portal.
  • Document and communicate throughout the whole process of working an issue until closure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field/discipline.
  • 5+ years of technical experience, ideally in an HPC-related area.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of material properties and hardware, software, and electrical component design.
  • Using empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Strong Linux networking knowledge and experience.
  • Strong experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, and enterprise level switch configuration.
