Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Clerk III in the UCard Office at UMass Amherst. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our cardholders, managing UCard production and distribution, and overseeing the maintenance of our office equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage UCard production, distribution, and mailings, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to cardholders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to cardholders, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance of our office equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and adequate for our needs.
  • Collaborate with the UCard Manager and other staff members to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in their roles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including data entry, record-keeping, and special projects.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills, with experience using software applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a customer-facing role, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures, particularly those related to UCard operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday position. The successful candidate will work in a typical office environment, with occasional travel to other campus locations as needed.

Salary Information

This position is classified as a USA/MTA Grade 11.
