Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Testing Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in executing advanced evaluations and tests on a diverse range of mechanical components and systems, ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement thorough testing plans, procedures, and protocols for mechanical components and systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specifications.
- Design, construct, and maintain sophisticated testing apparatus and devices to facilitate precise and efficient testing of mechanical systems.
- Conduct in-depth tests and evaluations on mechanical parts and systems, including stress, thermal, dynamic, and impact assessments.
- Analyze test results and produce comprehensive reports detailing findings, potential issues, and recommendations for enhancements.
- Collaborate with design engineers and team members to identify and rectify design-related challenges encountered during testing.
- Ensure the maintenance and calibration of testing equipment, guaranteeing accurate and reliable results.
- Lead the formulation of testing methodologies and best practices to enhance overall testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends, standards, and best practices in mechanical testing and engineering, applying this knowledge to elevate product quality.
- Participate in design reviews, providing insights on the manufacturability, performance, and reliability of mechanical components and systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, fostering a secure working environment for all team members.
- Maintain effective communication with senior leadership regarding project progress and potential challenges.
- Exhibit a positive attitude in a fast-paced, yet rewarding, work environment.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- Experience: A minimum of three years in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, and experience with PLC programming is essential.
- Additional Skills: Proven experience in mechanical testing and documentation, along with expertise in test stand design and PLC/Controls for test automation, is required.
