Position Overview:
This role involves performing preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and executing repairs as needed. The technician will also be responsible for fabricating and installing equipment, comprehending regulations, and providing training to colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Scheduling: Coordinate repairs and conduct maintenance on equipment, including inspections of drives, motors, and belts. Utilize a variety of tools to perform maintenance tasks effectively.
- Unscheduled Repairs: Address unexpected equipment failures by troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
- Fabrication Skills: Execute fabrication tasks using metal, plastic, and wood, including operating cutting and welding equipment.
- Equipment Testing: Conduct tests on machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions and document maintenance activities.
- Routine Inspections: Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation of all machinery and systems.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the workshop and tool storage areas.
- Data Management: Utilize data control systems and resolve any operational issues.
- Additional Duties: Carry out other related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Required: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance roles, with a strong understanding of equipment repair and maintenance processes. Preferred: Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems, along with proficiency in using forklifts and other maintenance tools.
Certifications:
Preferred certifications include Boiler, Welding, or Electrical Certification, as well as Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) certification.
